Inclusion Holiday Programme
School holiday periods are often the most difficult for parents and carers in terms of gaining respite. While there is a great deal of provision for young people with disabilities during the school term, there are not a lot of opportunities during breaks in the school calendar.
It is often difficult for parents to find positive activities for disabled young people during school holiday periods. This often means young people miss out on the benefits of sports participation while parents and guardians are unable to have a break from their responsibilities as full time carers. This is particularly prevalent during the 6 week summer holidays.
Wiltshire Council hope to address these issues by offering a programme of sport targeting young people with disabilities during school holiday periods.
