Malmesbury Morris
25th September - 7:30pm
The Reading Room, Corston near Malmesbury
(the small hall on the main road near the pub!)
Put aside your preconceptions. Open your mind to new things. Learn the great secret of Morris dancing - it's a hell of a lot of fun.
You don't have to sign your life away or commit to join the side - just join us for a good evening of live music and dancing and find out why this ancient pastime is thriving across the world - from Australia to Finland and From China to the USA.
Learn at least one dance, or if you're a musician learn to play at least one tune. Keep fit in a traditional way! All ages welcome, no experience necessary.
Malmesbury Morris was formed in 2004, but revives a much older tradition of Morris dancing in Malmesbury going back at least 400 years. We perform mainly Cotswold and Border style dances, both traditional and modern. Our aims are - to have fun, to keep fit, to entertain the public and bring traditional English dances to Malmesbury and the surrounding area. We try to dance out, at pubs, fetes, festivals etc about once a fortnight during the summer.
